How UAS.flights Works

A Mission File (also called a flight summary) is a structured document capturing your operational volume, ground risk buffer, adjacent zones, risk calculations, and compliance data for a specific drone operation. Civil Aviation Authorities across Europe require one per operation as part of SORA or PDRA approval. Pilots and operators must retain these files for a minimum of three years.

1

Draw or import your Flight Geography

Draw a polygon over the area to be flown, or import an existing KML file. The app automatically calculates the Contingency Volume (CV), the Ground Risk Buffer (GRB) as well as Adjacent Zones (ADJ).

2

Tune your drone parameters

Select a drone model from the built-in library or enter custom aerodynamic parameters — flight height, velocity, climb angle — to correctly size your flight operation.

3

Review Ground Risk Analysis

The ground risk analysis identifies the highest population density within the Ground Risk Buffer of your flight operation. The maximum density value and corresponding ground risk class are displayed dynamically in the user interface.

4

Review Air Risk & Restricted Zones

CTRs and ICAO airspace classes are identified based on your operational volume. Any geographical restricted zones affecting your operation are detected automatically.

5

Review Adjacent Area

Average population density inside the Adjacent Area is computed and displayed — required for the SORA V2.5 containment assessment.

6

Place Pilot & Observers

Mark your pilot position and any airspace observers on the map. Positions are included in both KML and DOCX exports.

7

Export your Mission File

Download a DOCX (Premium), KML, or PDF — fully formatted and ready for submission to your Civil Aviation Authority.

Already have a Ground Risk Buffer?

Draw the GRB first — the app back-calculates the Flight Geography, Contingency Volume, and Adjacent Area from it.

Import options

KML import (Free)

Import a KML file to draw your geometries directly on the map.

DOCX Mission File import (Premium)

Import an existing Mission File: geometries and parameters are parsed and drawn automatically.
